Northwest Federal Credit Union’s charitable arm, the NWFCU Foundation, recently awarded $150,000 in scholarships to college-bound individuals, including $20,000 to Northern Virginia Community College for their “Lifeline Grant,” an emergency relief fund for students on their campuses.

The NWFCU Foundation held its 4th annual Neon Night Glow Run on July 14th, 2018, raising money for their 9th annual Night of Magic, which the NWFCU Foundation hosts at Inova Children’s Hospital.
The Northwest Federal Credit Union (NWFCU) Foundation was announced as Honoree among the 12 Finalists and Honorees for the 2018 Cornerstones of Our Community-Best of Reston Awards. The selected Honorees were celebrated at the 2018 Cornerstones of Our Community – Best of Reston Awards Gala on April 12th for giving selflessly of their time, for the causes about which they are passionate, and in so doing making our community stronger.
The Northwest Federal Credit Union (NWFCU) Foundation, the charitable arm of Northwest Federal Credit Union, partnered with the College to donate a $10,000 Higher Education Award grant to NOVA-Loudoun Lifeline – an emergency relief fund for students at the Loudoun Campus.
The NWFCU Foundation partnered with Odin, Feldman & Pittleman, PC to make the first donation from their Weekend Meals Drive. The drive collects non-perishable food to be donated to local school programs that ensure students who rely on free and reduced-price school meals have food over the weekend.
Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation held its first ever Kids in Crisis drive, collecting over 2,000 plush toys, blankets, and other comfort items for local first responders to provide to children in crisis situations.
Sharon K., resident of Herndon, VA was selected on June 15, 2017 as the winner of our car raffle in partnership with Carvana. Sharon selected a blue Ford Edge and her car was delivered on August 8, 2017. Many thanks to our corporate partner, Carvana; congratulations to Sharon; and thanks to all who purchased raffle tickets to benefit the Scholarship Program.
The NWFCU Foundation, the charitable arm of Northwest Federal Credit Union, partnered with members, corporations and Community Partners to donate over 7,000 child-friendly, nutritious, nonperishable food items as part of their Weekend Backpack Program.
The Foundation recognized 26 individuals as its 2017 scholarship award recipients with a record distribution amount of $140,000 and launched its new Higher Education Community College award. Over $1,000,000 in scholarship monies has been presented to 258 students since our program began 13 years ago.
