Two Decades of Turning Compassion into Action
Since 2004, the Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation has served as the vibrant heartbeat of our credit union, transforming the "people helping people" philosophy into a powerhouse of community impact. What began as a local mission at Dranesville Elementary has ignited into a regional force for good, now supporting a network of 40 schools and nine nonprofit partners. For over 20 years, we’ve remained anchored by one bold, unwavering belief: every child, regardless of circumstance, deserves the chance to learn, grow, and dream without limits.
A History of Service

Our story is one of compounding generosity and record-shattering milestones. From awarding more than $2.6 million in scholarships to completing 156 outreach drives, we have touched hundreds of thousands of lives across Northern Virginia. In 2025 alone, we reached an incredible peak by serving 38,900 individuals in a single year—providing everything from brand-new shoes and holiday meals to life-changing mentorship for first-generation students. Today, we continue to move forward with more energy than ever, united by a shared purpose to build a future where every student has the dignity, resources, and opportunity to succeed.
