Neon Night Glow Run
For four years, through 2018, 250 participants took to the course at this family-friendly 5K Glow Run and 1-Mile Fun Run sparkling their way around paved roads, the W&OD Trail, and the Runnymede Park Trail, then crossing the finish line amid smoke and lasers. Each entrant received a glow-in-the-dark T-shirt, a glow necklace, an awesome swag bag filled with goodies, and access to pre- and post-race music and entertainment. We also handed out special prizes for glow runners who were the brightest, most flashy, and most reflective.
The Neon Night Glow Run was organized each year to raise monies to support the NWFCU Foundation's Night of Magic, held each year at Inova Children's Hospital, creating a memorable evening so that children and their families can forget about their medical concerns, if only for a few hours. The Night of Magic lives on, but the Neon Night Glow Run has run its course.
Car Raffle
Sharon K. from Herndon, VA Won a Car!
From April 17, 2017 to June 11, 2017, Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation in partnership with Carvana, LLC conducted a raffle for a vehicle with a value of up to $15,000. Per the Official Rules, one (1) winner was selected on June 15, 2017 by an unaffiliated public servant. The winning ticket number was 05505 and the winner was Sharon K., resident of Herndon, VA.
All funds raised from the raffle ticket sales directly benefit NWFCU Foundation’s Scholarship Program.
Jimmy's October Event
On Thursday, October 26th, 2018 over 75 people joined us at Jimmy's Old Town Tavern located at 697 Spring Street, Herndon, VA.
The NWFCU Foundation shared more about our community outreach initiatives which benefit local organizations in Herndon, Reston and the surrounding areas.
The event featured great food, drink specials and raffle prizes to benefit our Sweats 4 Vets drive and upcoming Help our Kids in Crisis drive.
