CIRA Scholarship

The Central Intelligence Retirees Association (CIRA) is made up of former CIA Officers who meet to celebrate their career and the friendships made in CIA.  CIA retirees understand the sacrifices being made by the current generation of CIA officers who are in the forefront of responding to threats to US national security around the world and providing US policymakers, war fighters and law enforcement with the best intelligence available to deal with threats to our country and opportunities to advance US interests internationally.  In recognition of the demands placed on CIA families and the importance of supporting the educational goals of the daughters and sons of CIA officers, CIRA - working in collaboration with the NWFCU Foundation - has created the CIRA Annual Scholarship Program, which awarded five $2,500 scholarships in 2008 to applicants from the children of active duty and retired overt and covert CIA officers selected by the NWFCU Foundation Scholarship Committee.  (Applicants are eligible to reapply every year up to four years.)
