Ben DeFelice Scholarship

The Ben DeFelice Scholarship was established in 2005 to pay tribute to Mr. DeFelice, NWFCU’s longest running Chairman of the Board (31 years) and nine-year veteran of the Board of NWFCU’s subsidiary, Northwest Financial LLC. A dedicated leader and visionary, Mr. DeFelice played a pivotal role in the development and success of NWFCU. 

2008 Ben DeFelice Scholarship Winners

  • Ruth Ball of Steubenville, Ohio attends Franciscan University of Steubenville.
  • Laura Ballweg is a 2008 graduate of Langley High School in McLean, Virginia and plans to attend the University of Delaware.
  • Susanna Blauch is a 2008 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia and plans to attend the University of Virginia.
  • Meagan Carrick is a 2008 graduate of Herndon High School in Herndon, Virginia and plans to attend Ithaca College.
  • Charles Cash of Madison Heights, Virginia attends the Virginia Military Institute.
  • Susie Cooper is a 2008 graduate of Saratoga High School in Saratoga, California and plans to attend Baylor University.
  • Amanda Jenkins of Ashburn, Virginia attends the University of Virginia.
  • Jennifer Kammer, of Herndon, Virginia attends the University of Virginia.
  • Hilary Koster of Thurmont, Maryland attends the Northern Virginia Community College.
  • Allison Light is a 2008 graduate of Park View High School in Sterling, Virginia and plans to attend the University of Virginia.
  • William Moore is a 2008 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas, Virginia and plans to attend the University of Florida.
  • Kathleen Murphy is a 2008 graduate of Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington, Virginia and plans to attend the College of William and Mary.
  • Lauren Palmucci is a 2008 graduate of Fairfax High School in Fairfax, Virginia and plans to attend Virginia Tech.
  • Anne Peck is a 2008 graduate of Briar Woods High School in Ashburn, Virginia and plans to attend the University of Virginia.
  • Christina Tulloch is a 2008 graduate of Potomac Falls High School in Sterling, Virginia and plans to attend Virginia Tech.
