Scholarships
During the first four years, $129,000 in Ben DeFelice scholarships were awarded to deserving students who demonstrated leadership, dedication and commitment in school, at home and in the community.

Children’s Miracle Network
The NWFCU Foundation is proud to work with and donate to the Children's Miracle Network, an alliance of 170 premier Children’s Hospitals which serve the routine and critical care medical needs of more than 17 million children annually – without regard for ability to pay for treatment. Fundraising programs include:

SammyFinancial Education
The NWFCU Foundation and NWFCU employee and member volunteers partner with area schools to encourage financial education.  

  • Penny Power – A reading and puppet program designed to teach elementary school children the importance of earnings and savings.  
  • Sammy Rabbit – Interactive book readings by children’s author Sam X. Renick and his sidekick, Sammy the Rabbit. Renick penned the popular ‘Sammy the Saver’ adventure series.
  • The Reality Store – A role-playing experience designed to help high school students understand and plan for the expenses of everyday life (i.e. housing, children, taxes, student loans, etc.).
  • Moonjar® – School workshops that teach children to save, spend and share using a kid  friendly piggy bank and encourages family money discussions at home.
  • Money Management 101 - Worshops that teach college students how to manage money on a student budget, how to avoid credit card debt, ATM fees and usage tips, the basics of checking products and more.
