A Message from the Chairman

Welcome to the Northwest Credit Union Foundation
The NWFCU Foundation was established in 2004 to promote and manage Northwest Federal Credit Union's philanthropic activities as well as to direct financial education and other charitable programs which reflect the interests of our membership and the communities we serve.

Our flagship program, an annual scholarship in honor of Ben DeFelice, a credit union pioneer whose leadership contributed to the success of Northwest Federal Credit Union and its subsidiary, Northwest Financial LLC, has awarded $129,000 in scholarships to date.

In keeping with the Foundation’s focus on financial education as a means to empower individuals to make prudent decisions and help them achieve their goals, the Foundation sponsors three financial education programs at local schools to teach children and teens how to save, spend, borrow and invest wisely.

The Foundation also participates in and contributes to several charitable programs, including community outreach and disaster relief grants, as well as the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run for the benefit of Children's Miracle Network and local Children’s Hospitals.

The credit union spirit of ‘people helping people’ is the cornerstone of the NWFCU Foundation.
