Back-to-School Backpack Drive
Help local children start the school year off right!

The NWFCU Foundation has partnered with Reston Interfaith and Kids R First for their annual Back-to-School Backpack Drive.  This annual initiative provides local children in need with school supplies and new backpacks at the beginning of the school year.  The goal is to collect 5,000 backpacks and Kids R First will purchase school supplies through grants and monetary contributions they receive.

How you can help
From July 7- July 31, collection bins will be available at NWFCU branches for new backpack* donations. (*No backpacks with wheels please.)  With your help, we can help less fortunate children who live throughout the area start the school year off right!

Bring in new backpacks to any of the following collection bin locations:

• Chantilly Branch
• Enterprise Branch
• Vienna Branch

Remember, the deadline to donate is Thursday, July 31.

Volunteers are needed to deliver the backpacks to Reston Interfaith’s office, to help stuff the backpacks with supplies and to distribute the completed backpacks to the registered families. Please contact an NWFCU Foundation representative for details.
