Our relationship to Northwest Federal Credit Union
Northwest Federal Credit Union (NWFCU), a not-for-profit financial cooperative, has served the financial needs of select government employees since 1947. Dedicated to expanding the benefits of credit union membership to others in the community, in 1999, NWFCU diversified its membership to include local employers and their employees. The credit union now serves more than 400 select employer groups in Northern Virginia and has nearly 90,000 members.

In 2004, NWFCU’s Board of Directors authorized the creation of the Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation. The NWFCU Foundation has a separate Board comprised of appointed volunteers responsible for the Foundation’s oversight and fiscal responsibility of the charitable programs endorsed by NWFCU. The NWFCU Foundation offers NWFCU employees and its members the opportunity to participate in and/or donate to the Credit Union’s various philanthropic activities.
